How to know when to start your email list

Let’s get to it!

If you're already in the know about the importance of email lists then props to you!

The question I want to address, however, is when you should start a list.

Is it when you already have a program? Is it before? Is it when you first start your business? I think there are a lot of differing opinions here but personally... I think you should start it right away!

Email lists allow you to teach your audience about your skillset. They also allow you to connect and build a relationship with your audience. They're not just dollar signs. You don't want to only send them messages asking for their money. They want you to help them, yes but you can do so on a regular basis with your amazing insight.

By nurturing your audience they learn to know you as a person and not just an entrepreneur. They aren't dumb - they know you work to make money. They will trust you more if you get really real with them though. Believe it or not, people can pick up on whether you are fake even on email. As a whole, we are used to being bombarded every day with advertisements and people trying to sell us something. Keep this in mind when you send emails out to your audience. Be their friend first!

Let's move on to some frequently asked questions in regards to starting an email list!

FAQ:

How can you start a list? I have a course for you here that's completely free. It breaks all the steps down to get your email list started.

But I don't want to invest a lot into my email list right now. There are a lot of affordable email providers out there to choose from. You can even use their free trials to check out their specs and see which you like the most! See my email course for a break down of email providers!

If I don't have a course or a product to sell yet, what do I talk about in my emails? Here's the thing, your emails are a way for your audience to connect with you. Think about what your course or products will be about when you release them and what problems they solve and start talking about those problems. Get in your audiences head so they truly connect with you. When you're talking to them, speak like you're their best friend and personalize the content. Your audience will look forward to your emails and eventually, when you do release your goods? They'll know that you have their best interests in mind and be more likely to purchase from you as well.

How do I get them on my email list? By enticing them with a freebie. Now, not just any freebie and it does depend on your business. Once you get that incredible freebie done - you know, the one that solves problems, gives discounts, or is just plain fun - then you need to make sure you're sharing it all over the place!
